Does muscle soreness, weakness occur in als patients only when exerted muscles or with just normal activity?

One of the definitions of ALS is muscle wasting and weakness without exertion. I imagine soreness is part of it, too. You need to ask the patient's neurologist about any symptoms you don't understand.
