It really depends on your body chemistry. I've tried both and while they are supposed to do the same thing, aciphex worked for me and protonic did not. You could also try Prilosec over the counter. It's cheaper than the prescriptions unless you have insurance that covers it completely. Go with whichever prescription your doctor recommends first, if that doesn't work s/he will try something else to try to solve the problem. Good luck!
