How long does a stent last?

Question: coming up on ten year aniversery of my heart attack and was wondering if there is a time frame that stents normally last, blood works always normal to good and feel fine.... opps dropped my cigg..... thanks in advance :-)

LOL, you better be dropping that cig! I work in the cath lab and I've seen stents that lasted 15+ years. If you keep your cholesterol down and be good!! You shouldn't have a problem. Now if you had by-pass surgery, 10 years is when the grafts start clogging back up with junk... No good. But then again, you just get a stent to pop it back open and yer back to eating cheeseburgers and beer in no time!
