Question:
i was told by my doctor that i have herpes. she told me that i may get it from public toilet. From the net i found out that it's actually a std and one get it from sex. How can i get it if i didnt have sex with anyone else but my husband?? Now my husband is suspecting me that i have affair. how can i prove him wrong? I have herpes and it's from sex. he has sexual partners before he met me which is more than 6 yrs ago. Could he be a carrier eventhough he show no symtom for these 6 yrs?

Answers:
He could definately be a carrier with no symptoms, the same thing happened to me from my boyfriend now. It isn't a definate sign of infedelity from either side. He could have gotten herpes from one of his past partners 4 years ago, and he could never show symptoms, I mean never ever show them. My doctor said they actually did a study on a women that had herpes, she said that they were checking to see when she was more likely to spread the virus. The odd thing is, is that she said that in the study they found that she was more likely to spread the virus when she had no visible symptoms at all, and she was actually spreading from her nose and mouth more then her genital area, that is how off this std is. When I got it from my boyfriend I was horrified, I didn't know what to think, after time went by and much research and many discussions with my doctor I realized it can be spread from someone with absolutely no symptoms. However in a some people if they are one that will show symptoms you will normally get it 10-14 days after you contract it, meaning he could have been in the stage of possible spreading and you got it then. Go to this website and possible print it up and show it to him, or talk to you doctor and get papers from her, but good luck!!

I also wanted to highlight this stuff that came off of the website, read the first paragraph and that should show you and him both, but I still am listing the website so you can have all information!

HSV-1 and HSV-2 can be found in and released from the sores that the viruses cause, but they also are released between outbreaks from skin that does not appear to be broken or to have a sore. Generally, a person can only get HSV-2 infection during sexual contact with someone who has a genital HSV-2 infection. Transmission can occur from an infected partner who does not have a visible sore and may not know that he or she is infected.

HSV-1 can cause genital herpes, but it more commonly causes infections of the mouth and lips, so-called "fever blisters." HSV-1 infection of the genitals can be caused by oral-genital or genital-genital contact with a person who has HSV-1 infection. Genital HSV-1 outbreaks recur less regularly than genital HSV-2 outbreaks.
