solution for high blood pressure?

Question:
i'm only 23 but i'm very suspicious that i have high blood pressure because i seem to have the symptoms... neck, shoulder and backache, headache, and a feeling of nausea.
what would be the best way to deal with this condition before it gets worse. does my sleeping habit and the fact that i'm in front of the computer most of the time have anything to do with it?
thanks to those who'll help!

Answers:
You don't know what your blood pressure is!? You should really go and get that checked out.

Blood pressure can cause serious problems, especially if you don't get it taken care of.

I am 24 yrs old, and I too had very high blood pressure. I lowered it by eating healthy, cutting back on my salt intake (sodium), AND exercising more.

Go see your doctor, and if you're still worried, get a BP cuff and monitor your systolic and diastolic numbers at home. Digital is great, and quick and easy to read BUT not accurate if you don't use it correctly or have low batteries.

Other Answers:
Talk to your doctor for proper diagnoisis.
Drink green tea it lowers your blood pressure
eat healthier and take tai chi.
watch more cheerios commercials
Those are NOT the symptoms of hypertension.
That set of complaints can be caused by spending too much time in front of the computer especially if your work station is not ergonomic in design.
you should see a doctor for high blood pressure evalutation. it is difficult to diagnose yourself because the symptoms that you are feeling are consistent with other conditions. a high salt intake normally contributes to high blood pressure so if you are really worried, watch or limit your salt intake and make an appointment to see your physican.
High blood pressure usually has no symptoms. In fact, many people have this disease for years without knowing it. Having high blood pressure (hypertension) doesn't mean you're tense, nervous or hyperactive. You can be a calm, relaxed person and still have hypertension. The only way to find out if you have this disease is to have your blood pressure checked! A blood pressure test is quick and painless. It can be done in a doctor's office, hospital clinic, school, nurse's office, company clinic or at a health fair.

A single high reading doesn't mean you have high blood pressure, but it's a sign that you need to watch your blood pressure carefully. If your blood pressure is normal, get it checked at least every two years. If you have prehypertension, or if you have a family history of high blood pressure, you're at higher risk. Your doctor will tell you how often to have it checked.

How is blood pressure checked?
Blood pressure is measured using a medical instrument called a sphygmomanometer. A rubber cuff is wrapped around your upper arm and inflated. When the cuff is inflated, it compresses a large artery in your arm, momentarily stopping the blood flow.

Next, air in the cuff is released, and the person measuring the blood pressure listens with a stethoscope. When the blood starts to pulse through the artery, it makes a sound. Sounds continue to be heard until pressure in the artery exceeds the pressure in the cuff.

The person listens and watches the gauge, then records two measurements. Systolic pressure is the pressure of the blood flow when the heart beats (the pressure when the first sound is heard). Diastolic pressure is the pressure between heartbeats (the pressure when the last sound is heard). Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury, which is abbreviated mm Hg.

ever actually taken your blood pressure? those free ones at the store are pretty accurate.
if most of your day is in the computer most all your symptoms could be attributed to that.
#1 way to lower bp is lose weight, no caffeine, no alcohol, exercise,
Cut out the following foods from your diet: pork in any form, margarine, lard, shortening, and vegetable oils. Use real butter and olive oil instead, and eat boneless, skinless chicken breast meat. Also, use a lot of garlic in your cooking and get some lecithin at the health food store. Both garlic and lecithin emulsify that which clog the arteries.
See a medical doctor. If you do have untreated high blood pressure, you are risking your quality of life if not life itself. Can't afford to see an MD about this? You can't afford the consequences of the damage that untreated high blood pressure can and will do to you.
There are free blood pressure booths in front of the pharmacy at any wal-mart, you should sit down and stick your arm in it, you shouldn't have hbp at your age. If you smoke cigs or pot that would cause it as would stress. I heard a salty diet would add to it.

It is a life threatening condition and women are more suseptable than men to heart disease. So if you have it you need to change your habits, diet, exercise and/or take medicine for life.
The fact that you are behind the computer might be the problem, if you are there all the time. Your body needs support and you need to make sure that you are comfortable and that you have proper posture and take a break once in a while. If not, then all of those symptoms could be a cause of that. If have had a significant amount of weight gain recently then that might be a factor in high blood pressure. NOT SALT INTAKE. You must first go to a clinic and get it checked, and if you do have hypertension than you will have to take it easy and begin a new diet regiment, or new eating routine with healthy foods. Like I mentioned before, weight gain can also be a cause in those symptoms. Blood pressure can also be controlled by exercise, and you don't want medication can that can ruin your liver in the long run. If you are stressed and smoke...STOP! Smoking does not only give higher risks of cancer but also heart disease and hypertension. You might want to get on diet and exercise immediately to make sure you will be ok.
First go to any drug store and see if you actually have high blood pressure. Sit down at one of the self check machines and push the little red button.
Don't suspect...........just check it out!

I have HBP for years. You should avoid salty foods and consume other food & drinks moderately. Exercise regularly and hydrate yourself well.....preferably with just plain water or lots of tea.

My BP was hovering around 180/120 for a long time without me realizing I was a walking 'time bomb'.....

..........I found out quite by accident.

Now I drink a bitter tea, made from the leaves of a tree in Vietnam, regularly in small-tea-cup portions. My BP is a constant 110/80 now.

At 23, you better do some thing right............you dont deserve to have this kind of problem.

I am overweight, a glutton & lead a sedentary life style.
My age is 63.
Besides diet there are medications such as "Diovan" and "Benicar" But the safest and cheapest way is diet and lifestyle like cutting loose stressful people and situations.
A low cholesterol diet, ie low fat and exercise. trying not to get stressed as that also increases your BP, so maybe a bit of meditation? If your BP is high you may need medication to lower it to prvent anyfurther conplications- so get to your doctors!
