no

No one in my family has never had a stroke. I'm lucky.

not me my, brother and law did back in Jan of this year, he walks with a limp and talks with a slur, we are really worried about his mental health, b/c he can't work and all he does is watch TV, he's very depressed

My mom had one about 3 years ago (TIA). She can walk, talk etc but she's super emotional and when she's really excited or upset or tired she has a hard time thinking of certain words or sometimes she knows the word but she just can't get it to come out right unless she stops and really makes herself talk slowly. You would never know she had a stroke by looking at her. She was only 47 when it happened.

i had one and haven't been the same since My grandmother had a stroke. She lived in a hospital bed for a year. But she was more or less a vegetable. She couldn't do anything, couldn't talk and could barely recognize us.

yes, our Daddy

Yes, our daughter had a stroke 8 years ago. She was 26 years old at the time. She lost speach and was paralysed down her right side. Intensive therapy over the next two years enabled her to walk, with a barely noticable limp. She regained some use of her right hand but is unable to write.. Her speach is still affected. She speaks a few words, no sentances. She lives independantly and has raised a daughter to the age of 14 years.
Family need to be patient and accept the frustration the stroke survivor is enduring.
