Can you pick up the HIV virus from saliva, as in a cigarette?
Question:
Answers:
HIV is only likely to be transmitted from saliva if the person has bull blown AIDS in terminal stage. The HIV virus can only survive a few seconds outside the body - on a cigarette, for example - and the presence of the virus is extremely low in the saliva people who are HIV possitive who do not present AIDS yet. There are even cases of marriages where one of the partners is infected and the healthy partner is allowed, NOT discouraged, to kiss the infected partner. It is virtually impossible for your daughter to get the virus that way, even if she kissed one of the guys who's infected.
only if she had an open sore that came in direct contact with the virus is she at risk
