packaging diagram for infectious substances?

Question:

i work for a company that deals with returned glucose meters that have trace amounts of dried blood inside the machine,its unknown if there is infected blood inside. What would be the propper packaging instructions or packaging diagram. If anyone knows a site it would be helpfull.

I don't know about infectious but all body specimens are required to have the biohazard symbol on them and be disposed of in the proper containers labelled as such. Your local health department or epa should be able to clarify a specific symbol for infectious.

I didn't find anything on the website, but the post office would probably be the best source of information. They would tell you what is required for the package as well as the best materials to ship in.
