I am a European, working in China and their doctors seem to know little about this disorder. ther prescribed penicillin shots to reduce my fever but I still have 38,5 every night. can't go to work. What can it be? Please, your advice if you have any information about this condition. I am a 40 year old man.

I do not know if this is your problem, however, it is a problem that can accentuate pain. Hyperinsulinemia.

In a nutshell, please visit the site www.hufa.org, click on symptoms and click on pain to get some tips on what to do if it is indeed caused by hyperinsulinemia or hypoglycemia. If you think it may be, then try to find 5 minute oatmeal and salmon to eat (in addition to other protein). Be sure you don't have any wounds that have become infected. Also check www.mayoclinic.com for gout - as that can cause pain and inflammation and fever.
Keep going to doc until they just can't figure it out then consider "Chronic Pain Syndrome". It's when the brain tells the body that it's in pain, but there's really nothing wrong at all.
It is not a mental state, it is true physical pain. Something about the nerve endings not shutting off the pain stimulation. Just saw such a thing on TV, Mystery Diagnosis or something like that.
Maybe you ate a monkey or a cat, dog, And it just didn't go down right. Contect your Embassy over there. They will give you a list of European doctor that will help you. Stop! Eating there food until you know what the problem is. You must understand that in China, If it has two or four legs they will make a dish out of it.
