Does Celebrex cause weight gain?

Question:

Answers:
It is difficult to disentangle this as it is usually prescribed for musculoskeletal pain, particularly arthritis, and arthritis decreases mobility and therefore causes weight gain through reduced exercise. To my knowledge there is no specific evidence that they cause weight-gain and it is not a formally listed side-effect of the drug (in the British National Formulary)

However, I would be more concerned about the proven cardiovascular side effects of celebrex (increased incidence of stroke and heart attack), particularly if the person you are talking about is overweight for other reasons.

Other Answers:
IT IS A MILD ADVERSE REACTION BUT YES IT CAN CAUSE SOME WEIGHT GAIN. ALSO WATER RETENTION.
