schizophrenia,is it likely these people play mind games on others and do they have a daily routine?
Question:
Answers:
Schizophrenia is a chemical imbalance in the brain, and No, they are not "playing" mind games. They are out of touch with reality and need a lot of care and compassion. A relative who lived with me was schizophrenic so I have a lot of experience with this. He ended up getting monthly mega-vitamin shots and gradually got better and better to the point where he is now married and has children and is leading a very productive life.
It's important to understand that these people are going through hell on earth, no medications were able to help him until we discovered the mega-vitamin shot. Wow, turned his life around.

In my psych class I was told that schizophrenic people usually follow very rigid schedules.

My uncle has Schizophrenia and as reza h says, sticks to a very rigid routine. He tends to buy 7 of everything, has them neatly stacked in a certain way,he knows instantly if anything is out of place.
His daily routine is exactly the same every day and can be totally 'thrown out' if even the slightest change may occur.
Everything has to be arranged or done in a certain order,it's almost as if his mind is like a filing system.
I know that he,for one, definitely does not play mind games,in fact I couldn't imagine anyone living with Schizophrenia would. It is not in their 'make up'.
The sites that gangadharan has suggested are extremely informative and useful for those with little or no understanding of Schizophrenia.
daily routine helps as they feel tired most of the time, they see things and hear things that are very real to them , this can be scary and needs a lot of support, one person I know has sleeping pill tohelp him to sleep as he hears voices, he had tv and radio on to cover up the voices when he goes to bed and we later turn them off. they don't play mind games. They can be scared of all sorts of stuff like having a bath or eating certain food.
