I jus got diagnosed with irritant dermatitis.hu. like hell..any remedies?

Question: the doctor told me it could be caused by shaving your pupic hair.however i had sex lasty tuesday and it started up showing up on tuesday..so who knows..hurts like hell.hopefully it will go away.any advice? or treatment?

Irritant Dermatitis is not necessarily an STD. Irritant dermatitis is by definition a skin irritation. It can be caused by shaving, scratching, allergies, mites etc. My 5 month old daughter had it on her arm - It usually doesn't require any treatment, unless it lasts for more than a week. Keep cold compresses on it, not warm, as the warmth may increase the irritation. Another home remedy is to apply some olive oil to the affected area. Above all . don't scratch!
