Why do feet only smell after a wash?

I spend a lot of time bare-footed any my feet do not smell (or at least I do not notice). But the strangest thing happens: after I take a shower in which I wash my feet, they tend to smell for 2-3 hours after the shower.
What is the explination and what can I do to prevent it?

My dad wears socks and work boots all day. When he gets home i sometimes give him a foot rub. and his feet do stink, but i like that smell. after a shower i never notice his feet stinking.so it must be that your barefoot to often.

Clean the floor of you shower. You're probably picking up the smell from the rest of your body;s stink. Wash your feet last, and dry them off.
The bacteria are there and if you are barefooted, they don't have an opportunity to do much since the area is generally dry. Once you shower, then they get wet and can grow. If you use something like FootFresh or melaleuca oil after you have washed them, it will make a difference.
