tb the dilema?

Question:
within my last question a reply was given regarding mdr (multi drug resistant tb,which is caused in most cases where a patiant does not complete there treatment,in most cases this is found to happen in countries where there is a lack of money,to pay for the drugs,on internet it states that one of this places is the eastern block, who are flooding the uk with imigrants (not blaming the people but the politicians)my question is what precautions are made at point of entry to whichever country, are tests compulsory,or is the word of individual it,

Answers:
TB tests are costly to administer in large quantities. Also, the period of time between the test and the results is long enough that immigrants would either have to be quarantined or else they would have already potentially spread the disease to others around them before they found that they were infected.

Other Answers:
That's a good question. Today you can fly almost anywhere in the world without immunization. We've become a global community.
You can get TB where ever you are--it is passed by small air droplets when one who has TB coughs. Medical personnel in the U.S. must be tested yearly, but the public has no manditory testing.
