My son has it and at 16 he had to have surgery. They cut a big part of his intestines out and reconnected the healthy pieces together. He had to watch what he ate for awhile, but 10 years later he's in awesome shape, works in construction, eats great, and has never had a relapse. Thank GOD!

Hi there, No there is no cure for Chrohns disease. But it can go in remision. I have suffered Chrohns for nearly 4 years now, mine bought on by stress. If you get onto a good doctor/specialist and take medication (if prescribed), eat well and decrease stress levels then you have a good chance of going into remision. (written is only a personal experience) but there are some great websites on this disease. Good luck, I know what it can be like when it flares up. no, crohn's disease can't be cured, it can just be treated as best as possible.

while a person can't have any cow dairy poducts, my mom has found that she can drink goat milk just fine without upsetting her crohn's. if they can use cow's milk to make it, there's a place that sells the goat milk version of it, from goat butter to goat yogurt. this helps replace a lot of the calcium people will lose when they stop eating all cow diary products. and with dark chocolate that's made with soy, people with crohn's disease can eat that too.
