whats the odds? pilonidal cyst affecting my son when he gets older me and his father have had one?

my sons dad had one when he was 16 he had 3 surgeries on it i always worried about my son getting it because his fathers father and brother had both had one as well so when i would talk about with friends i would always joke because my so is probably gonna end up with one and its sad because it hurts. Well guess what i ended up being diagnosed with one last week and go to have a consultant with a surgeon in a couple hours!!! its rare in girls but the odds of me and my sons dad having one are even lower well for all of you that know about the condition what are the odds my son will have one??? probably high im sure :(
