How do I even out my skin tone?

Question:
I'm an Asian boy with skin problems. When I was six, I've noticed that the skin color on my buttocks is a bit darker than the rest of my body. It's not normal but I've seen others with the same problem. Aren't buttocks supposed to be lighter than the rest of your skin, especially because they get the least sun exposure? How come some people have this condition? I don't think this is psoriasis because psoriasis looks worse. How do I get rid of this condition? I want to wear trunks to the beach!

Answers:
If you think you have a skin condition go to a dermatologist who can tell you exactly what it is so you can properly treat it.By taking answers without knowing what the cause is and trying some remedies, you may do yourself more harm than good.

I have atopic dermatitis and have had it all of my life(over 40 years);by knowing exactly what you have you can choose products that will help and not hurt.I feel very wary about suggestiong any products to you unless you have a doctor's diagnosis.

Here's a book that you can read:Beautiful Skin of Color:A Comprehensive Guide for Asian,Olive and Dark Skin by Jeanine Downie M.D. and Fran Cook-Bolden,M.D..It's really a good source book for a complexions.

Other Answers:

swim naked!

My daughter said to tell you to try going to a tanning salon, and my advice is since your buttocks are darker, then go ahead and go to the beach and tan, because since you are going to have your trunks on the rest of your body will tan, and hopefully it will even out for you.My daughter also said to try using Cover Girl outlast. It is a makeup that evens out your skin tone. Good Luck, and have a great time at the beach.
