what medication helps chronic bronchitis, besides Ventolin..i cannot take advair(steroid).

Question:
i was told i had asthma for 2 years, on different inhalers, and now have adrenal insufficiency from the steroid in advair..respirologist says i don't have asthma, from pulmonary funciton tests, but bronchitis, copd, and do smoke..i had no cough, but off the inhalers, sob, wheezy, but the anxiety is making quitting smoking more challenging than anything, EVER..worse than heroine to get off they say..i need to go slower, and in the meantime, find a way of breathing, so that i can walk more than a few blocks..!

Answers:
When I have bronchitis my doctor gives me Allegra D it's good for the congestion and also Albuterol in an inhaler. Both of these things combined help my breathing alot. And of course I get a sermon about the cigarettes. But like you, I haven't been able to quit yet. Good luck.

Have you tried Singulair? Ask your lung specialist on your next appt.
Ask your Dr about "Spiriva" it's pretty new. It was approved by FDA about two years ago. Canada and England approved it for their people much sooner than the U.S. did.
I can't think of who the mfg is.
