Call the pharmacist to make sure none of your other meds are interacting with this one, if you go to the same pharmacist, they would have know what other meds you are on and if there are any interactions, but keep in mind they get very busy, not only with checking the meds that are filled but also checking refill orders, faxes, dr. calls, etc. BUT also be aware that if you can't get ahold of your pharmacist, keep in mind that sudden discontinuation of the drug can exacerbate angina, etc. Make sure you change positions slowly.

there are lots of things that could be causing this..first is if you take other medications you need to make sure that this new one is not going to interfere.which your pharmicist should have already done.but if your doctor gave you samples to see if this is going to work then call your pharmacy to see if it is okay.all in all to play it safe call your doctor.
Call your primary caregiver. As soon as you can. Your side effects may be normal or they could be dangerous. If you still have the insert that came with your prescription, it will tell you which side-effects are normal and which ones are dangerous.
I take atenolol 25mg myself, however I'm taking it for a beta blocker. I had a heart attack in 95. My worse side effects are shortness of breath. I have asthma and I'm not suppose to be taking the atenolol. The other side effects are dry skin, loss of hair and drowsiness. I have the tingling in my hands and feet. After I take the atenolol I have to use inhaler then take a nerve pill to calm me down from the inhaler. Maybe you should talk with your doctor about the tingling. Ask your doctor to change the atenolol to something else. To many medications out there for you to be stuck with one that your uncomfortable with.
Atenolol is also a blood pressure medication, and it's used for migraine headaches. I've been taking atenolol for 11years.
Atenolol is a beta blocker..it blocks the receptors on the heart muscle.. so it blocks the heart to pump with complete force..so it lowers the blood pressure.it is not right way according to me to treat an illness..it won't cure it forever.rather the arteries should be made more flexible.. heart should be made more relaxed and ventricles should be made strong. this is possible only through meditation and yoga.. . this is the only useful and effective cure for blood pressure and many illnesses..you can also try the tree bark of Arjuna. you can read about it through google. role of terminalia arjuna in heart problems.. Arjun tea is another useful product made up of arjuna.. you can try this.. you can find arjun tea through google
atenolol is a lousy blood pressure agent - there are much better choices. are you on anything else for BP?
