my husband is suffering from cronic ulceratative colitis and is in pain...how can i help him?

Question: from what we've heard colitis causes arthritis...right now he has a swollen knee and its hard for him to walk he is currently taking asacol..and oxycodone anyone out there with this disease knows what works for them?

Answers:
I have UC. I only take Asacol during my flare ups, supplements I take are Fish Oil tablets and Peppermint oil, there is not much more you can do but wait for the flare ups to pass.
