DESCRIPTION

ADALAT® CC
(nifedipine)
Extended Release Tablets
For Oral Use

ADALAT CC is an extended release tablet dosage form of the calcium channel blocker nifedipine.
I don't think it's a beta blocker then. Google search it. :)

No, nifedipine is a Calcium channel blocker and is not a beta blocker (which works on different receptors in the body).

Hope this helps

No, it is definitely not a beta blocker. I think it's a calcium channel blocker but don't hold me to that. Nifedipine belongs to a class called calcium channel blockers, its main action to make vasodilatation of peripheral blood vessels hence reduce blood pressure,Nifedipine has some side effects like increased heart rate, flushing and edema

Nifedipine also known as Adalat is a Calcium Channel Blocker. It has been found to reduce the incidence of stroke in elderly patient with isolated systolic hypertension.

It is often in pts who do not respond to a Beta Blocker or a diuretic when in doubt I go to my pharmacist and ask him or her. They will also give you a drug information sheet if you want.
