When is the best time to carry out operation on baby with hernia?

Question: We detected our 4 month old baby has hernia. Doctor advised we wait before the surgery is done. He is now two years old, very active and playful. The hernia comes out anytime he cries and passing stool. No discomfort noticed.
When do you advice we go for the surgical operation

I advise you listen to the Dr., if your not happy with what one is saying get second opinion

There's a two kind of hernia one int he diaphram and one in the inguinal (genital area) i assume that this is in the inguinal part. Granny is right. But since you said there is no discomfort in your baby then dont bother to have this surgery.

A playfull child is not a good thing to undergo a surgical operation. Unless it is necessary to undergo sugical operation.

In this case it is NOT necessary.

After 2yrs is best, the lungs are more mature and they can generate body heat better to stay in the normal range in those cold operating rooms.
