Lymphedemia=swe. of the limbs?

Question:
Do you have or does anyone you know have this?

Answers:
As with other answerers, Lymphedema is a swelling of the lymph nodes and can be very painful.

This is often a complication to mastectomies performed on breast cancer patients. Doctors often take a number of lymph nodes from the arm pits to check for spread of cancer, causing the condition. However, while there is some treatment, there is no cure. It can be a very debilitating condition. Patients with the condition often have a difficult time moving their arms (or may not be able to move them much at all).

If it is early-stage breast cancer, some have suggested asking the Doctor to remove a fewer number of lymph nodes to reduce the risk of developing the condition.

It's the swelling of your lymph nodes in your neck, chest, armpits, Stomach, groin, and the back of the knees. usually it will be in a concentrated area
