how long does it take for symptoms of hepatitis to occur?

Question:

Answers:
It depends. Hepatitis can either be acute or chronic. If its Hepatitis A, that is an acute disease. In other words you show symptoms relatively quickly. They are rather severe and last for months, but you do recover from it. Hepatitis B can be either acute or chronic. Most people that get exposed to Hep B (80%) will fight it off and only have the antibodies to it. Hep B is highly sexually transmitted (bodily fluids) as well as blood to blood transmission.

Hepatitis C is often asymptomatic until there is advanced liver disease. Most people (80%) go on to have a chronic infection, and don't even know they have it until elevated liver enzymes alert the primary care physician to do further testing, or until symptoms begin to appear. That's why Hep C is such a dangerous disease and is often referred to as the silent killer. The earlier treatment is sought, the better chance you have of responding to treatment. Treatment is a mild form of chemotherapy which usually lasts 48 weeks. I have been blessed to have done the treatment and responded. I' ve been clear of the virus for 6 years. Best wishes to you.
Depending what kind you may think you have. Hep A is mainly from food 1-7 days. Hep B is from sex or someone that has it and serving food(1-4 weeks). Hep C sometimes you don't have any symptoms at all. Best bet see your Dr. Hepatitis B is the most contagious and the one that make you very sick. Check your partner or your source to see if they are sick.
