What kind of pain meds is everyone on , what DOSE, what type of cancer do you have? and what stage?

My son is asymptomatic. He has no current pain. But he has had two major abdominal surgeries (one experimental) which required a Pain Management team. I believe he used fentanyl after one surgery and a personally controlled dilaudid after the other. He doesn't really like being hooked up to the pain meds and quickly weaned himself by yanking them out. Anyway, he was originally diagnosed with stage IV high grade desmoplastic small round cell tumor (rare, aggressive sarcoma that predominately affects young males) with multiple large and small tumors in abdomen, spleen, large and small intestine, liver, chest wall, lympth nodes, and right diaphragm. After 18 months of chemotherapy, debulking surgeries, and intraperitoneal hyperthermic chemoperfusion he was in remission for 8 months.

I dont have cancer but I am on pain meds. I had a rotator cuff repaired a month ago. really painfull. I have been taking Percocet but couldnt sleep when I took it. I am now on Vicadin. I can sleep now.

It would be nice to have a little bit more info. about your question. Do you yourself have cancer? Are you having problems with the meds. you are taking? Everyone is different with pain med. and it is also a very big difference between someone taking it for a minor issue and someone with cancer or chronic pain of some sort! So the dose and med. really doesn't matter does it? I myself have multiple medical problems(including cancer) and I am on enough medicine to kill a horse (literally). I am just barely able to function. If you saw me and talked to me , you would never know i was this sick or on that much medicine. If you have cancer also then i am very sorry cause i know this isn't a easy road to travel but with GODS intervention ,we will all be healed!
