do you guys think obesity is a diesease or just people making up excuses?
Question:
Answers:
It can be the result of hypoglycemia, a pre-diabetic condition.
It is not a disease, it is not just excuses, it is one way human bodies can process the food that they eat.
Once you know what foods trigger the hypoglycemia, you can plan to either avoid them or eat them. Once there is knowledge, there is responsibility. Until one knows why, one cannot correct the problem.

Each person is different it does depend on your eating habits but it also depends on their metabolism
Obesity is a desease and no less than that. It's not a disease like the flu.it's a disease of how you handle difficult times in your life and deal with stress. It's a lifestyle change.people don't want to change unless they are forced in some cases, which is how all this radical stomach surgery came about. They didn't have a choice, so they changed their diet. Funny thing is, THEY COULD HAVE DONE IT ALL ALONG WITHOUT THE SURGERY.
When you contract obesity you get this little blue and white thingy to hang off of the rearview mirror or your vehicle. Then you get the privileged parking spaces @ Wal-Mart so you don't have to walk far and keep your obesity.
It's a horrible pattern of parents with bad eating habits passing them onto their kids, creating a cycle of laziness and obesity.
I absolutely think so in some cases. I have been a size 2 my entire life. I had a hysterectomy and went to a size 16 within 6 months. I figured it was because of the hormones and it would all go back to normal soon. It's been almost ten years and I am still a 16. I eat considerably less than anyone I know and exercise, yet I can't lose any weight. I have seen several doctors who treated me like a fat girl looking for an excuse to be fat. That really pissed me off because I was looking for a way to lose it without pills and I wanted to know if something was wrong. Then I started vomiting every time I ate (not on purpose). Every time. I went back to my doctor (who I have finally realized is an idiot) who said nothing was wrong.how does that make sense. Wow, I can make a short story long.lol! Several doctors later it turns out I have a disease in my blood that is turning food to waste or fat and using no one of it for energy. She has me on medication now. The lbs are coming off and my energy level is through the roof because my food is actually working for me rather than against me. There are also thyroid disorders etc. Point is if diet and exercise aren't working you should see a doctor because it could be a disorder of some kind.
People are so judgmental about other people's weight. It makes me sad. was when I was thin, I actually said to a friend 'shoot me if I ever get as fat as her' Now I am much bigger than the girl I said that about. I realize how ignorant I was. How judgmental I was. Some overweight people are just lazy and overeat. Could be patterns learned from their parents, could be self loathing and trying to fill a void. Could be something I can't even imagine. But I know now it very well could be a disease or disorder. They are more common than I once thought.
