do we get mosquitoes in Britain?


Question:
My partner and I have both been bitten in recent nights, and have identified a flying creature that looks like a mosquito.

Answers:
We do have mosquitos - but much more common over here are Gnats. as a cure all to these little biting buggers though if you have someway of burning incense etc. it's a little known fact that the most repugnant thing in the world to insects is actually cat nip - if you can burn some of this in your room you should find they'll stay well clear.. this is also useful at barbecues etc.. though it's not recommended if you're allergic to hyper-active cats obviously :p

yes we have several kinds of mosquito, they just don't generally carry malaria. Try an insect repellent like 'Buzz off'' and try not to scratch!!
IIn short, yes. Mosquitoes are alive & well in parts of the UK. It could well be mosquitos biting you, but also could be any other of a number of other insects.
