Are kidney infections deadly?

Question:
I need to know because I had a kidney infection (probably still have it) & I got really sick but I thought it was the medication giving me these symptoms but it was the kidney infection. So, I stopped taking the medicine(Nitrofur) because I almost went toxic & the doctor said my body has become immune to the medicine. Well anyways, Are kidney infections deadly?

Answers:
Only if they go untreated.

Then you put your name on the list for a Kidney Transplant or expect Dialysis.

If this doctor is treating you then I am sure with proper follow-up on your part it will not go untreated.
Left untreated, kidney infections can cause serious damage to the kidneys and then dialysis is in order. Go to the dr asap!
