can you still have sex and not pass it to your partner if you have herpes one?
Question:
Answers:
Of course.
Herpes simplex virus 1 is typically cold sores (but it can also cause genital herpes). If you have cold sores you can always pass it to your partner by just kissing. This is the most common way cold sores are passed.
It's also possible for you to spread herpes to your partner if you give them oral sex. If you were to give a person oral sex it can cause them to develop genital herpes.
But, if you were to just have sex (vaginal or anal) you can NOT pass it to them. You would have to have genital herpes in order to pass it to them this way.
Remember, herpes can be spread to another person even if there are no sores present!
If you have any open sores yes you can pass it on, but while you are not having an out break you are safe not to pass it on.
