A weird question about STDs?

Question:

If STDs (Sexually transmitted diseases) can lay dormant in a person's body without you knowing, how can you not have the side effects, eg. genital warts: well, genital warts, herpes: those "things" around infected area, etc. People say that you should be cautious about spreading it. If you do indeed have it and you don't know, why aren't there side effects?

these are not called side effects...they are symptoms
if they dont show up it means thatthe microbe didnt multiply enoughto cause symptoms though it can b spread

do u mean if an STD is asymptomatic? thats y stds r so deadly. most ppl do not know that they have them. becus they take time to build up. the word ur looking for is asymptomatic. and fyi, if u have herpes u not only get warts on ur genitals but also like on or near ur lip.

that is why u should always lke ask ur partner or watever.

I think it has something to do with their immune system trying to fight the disease. Maybe their immune systems are strong enough to keep it under control for a while.
