Why do I have small ichy bumps underneath my wedding ring?

Question:
No, it's not a cheap ring. I've worn it for 3 years and now lately when I wear it, I get little ichy bumps. I've taken it off and let the bumps heal but when I put it back on, same thing happens. What's going on?

Answers:
Your allergic to it, I have the same problems, even if you did wear it for 3 years , you can get new allergys anytime in your life.Paint the inside of your ring with clear finger nail polish, you won't have to worry about it again, as the polish wears off, repaint it.Thats the only way i can wear jewelry..Try it, it really works..

Other Answers:
you're allergic to gold, it just took awhile for your finger to get pissed and it decided to start giving you a reaction. Or maybe, its some sort of a sign man, you best watch yourself lol, Na I'm just kiddin.

Still, your allergic to whatever the hell is on your finger. You can always put your ring on some sort of a necklace and wear it that way as well.

You may be allergic. If not, you may be washing your hands with your ring on, and getting soap under your ring which is irritating your skin. sounds like an allergy to that metal or you are getting it wet constantly underneath and not drying properly and it sits there all day

Yes, you're allergic to gold. But this can be fix by removing your ring for a few days. Could also mean that you are allergic to marriage.

Wash the ring with alcohol to kill any bacteria that may be growing on the surface. If that doesn't work than you could be allergic to gold. it is another form of cold feet. get out of the marriage and than call me. 867-5309

You may be allergic to cleaning chemicals. I am not allergic to gold or silver but unless I wear gloves, this happens too.

i think that after a while bacteria can accumulate under the ring causing the bumps. it happens to me as well. try washing the ring thoroughly.. on the inside and letting it dry and then let your finger heal. try wearing it again and i will bet your problem wil be solved :)

I will guess that you may have an allergy to Nickel. If your wedding ring is a lower karat of gold, say 12 kt or 14 kt, the amount of Nickel is higher. I myself have a Nickel allergy. I cannot wear any "fake" jewelry, and have to have a good quality of gold, or I break out in a rash.

You, I am sure do not want to replace the ring, due to it's sentimental value. A quick fix, if it is a Nickel allergy, is to simply coat the inside of your ring with clear nail polish. Try this after not wearing the ring for a day or so, to give your finger a chance to heal, then start wearing your newly clear coated ring. If you still get the bumps, then it is more likely a heat rash.. maybe your ring is a bit tight?

Also, if the ring happens to be white gold instead of yellow, try having it Rhodium plated. It costs about $20 where I'm at, and last a couple months instead of the nail polish that might have to be done every month..

Okay, please don't laugh. You've gotten some really fantastic answers here for people who are having allergies to metal, etc., but what I'm about to suggest is probably going to seem off the wall but hear me out. I had the same thing happen. Not only on my ring finger but also on my toe from a toe ring. Turned out what was causing it was the little tiny hairs on my fingers becoming inflamed by the rubbing of the ring. I got a hair remover and put it on both my finger and toe and guess what.the entire problem stopped. Try it.its a cheap way to see if it fixes the problem. If it doesn't, you can always use the hair remover for some other part of the body so its not like your wasting money.

Get thee to the doctor!

You could try putting clear nail polish on the inside of the ring as a temporary measure.
