Wow this is a tuff one for him.... any chance of marring him? If you are living together anyway...
California medi-cal won't give him anything if he is single without kids. Other than the marriage thing a state or federal job is the best bet. He knows construction? School districts are always on the look out to hire maintenance men and the insurance is great with no waiting time and most will cover pre ex's too.
Always ask the doctors office for samples!
About the swelling in his feet...Amputation is a real concern for us diabetics I know so many men and some ladies too without one or both legs.. keep them clean & dry. keep them up and rested when he is not working. Stay off the black sodas and away from alcohol & saltly foods.
Good luck

Okkkk soo your boyfriends insurance shouldn't mean a thing to you unless your shacking up. Your boy friends needs a job go to snagajob.com you'll find almost any job thats easy to get in your area once he has a job it'll be much easier.
If you have a job that has health insurance, then ask the HR department if they offer coverage for domestic partners. Some companies are pretty liberal with what they designate as a spouse.
most health insurance companies offer online quotes and registration
Yes - See a representative with your companies Human Resources department, or you can go out and shop from a company that offers health insurance, but it will be more expensive the latter way.
good luck even job based health insurance companies wont cover pre existing conditions for a year after you apply.
There are a lot of companies that will give him health insurance, but if he pays for it out of pocket it will be expensive. I recently researched this, and most companies will charge at least $100 a month and will offer some coverage. Google "cheap health insurance" and you'll get plenty of responses. Good luck!
the illness will be excluded from 90 days to a year depending on the carrier
i know in most states you can get social security health benifits through your local health department. my brother in law is also diabetic and thats what covers his meds.
in my county we have medical assitance and the one for single people is called Badger Care, so if your that concerned go to the Public Assitance office and ask about their medical asst.
it's easy to get an insurance agent. but my advise is, not to get him an insurance by now, cause the insurance firm will exclude his illness. meaning that you cannot claim for that illness, yet he might acquire to send the insurance firm a body check up. So better if your bf get a doctor first, and buy the health insurance 3 months later after he's recover, or in another word he stop taking medicine under healthy condition.
You can get health insurance through your car insurance company too.....but its gonna cost a lot. Also you should call his doctors office, actually you should talk to the people who handle the clinic bills...some clinics have a program set up to pay for your prescriptions/doctor bills if you dont have insurance. Also clinics are usually more willing to help you when you have a disease.
How long has he had diabetes? Has he seen a doctor and know what he needs to take....like how much insulin he needs to take and what kind? Does he have a glucose meter and strips? If not then you can buy a really cheap one in walmart/kmart or the clinic he goes to might even give him one. You dont need a prescription to buy test strips for the meter, you can buy them over the counter, lancets, syringes, and some insulins too...all the humulins and novolins are available to buy over the counter you just walk up to the pharmacy and say what you need, its the humalogs, novologs, lantus that you need a prescription for.
There are a lot of clinics/doctors offices that have programs set up for patients who cant afford the healthcare or dont have any insurance, or they can set you up with special billing where they won't send you to a collection agency for not paying so much every month. You really need to ask to find out, it's not something we advertise.
It is there but will cost a lot. Even company insurance may reject him or make him wait a year to claim anything for this condition. Talk to the State health assistance people and it may be that he can get help there.
apply for medical in california or medicaid elsewhere.... i mean since he doesn;t work and has no income i assume? he should be more then qualified .... next time u go to a hospital ask them to take out emergency medicaid and it will cover all ur hospital expences.
I am paying less than 1/2 of what I was before after going online & submitting a quote request.
