Question:
Answers:
See a pulmonary doctor ASAP! Shortness of breath can be from asthma (it can come on suddenly), or from many other lung conditions, pulmonary fibrosis (idiopathic means unknown cause), TB, fungal infection, pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs, even if your general blood pressure is normal), broncheolitis, bronchitis, lung cancer and more, or from a heart valve condition. You will need Pulmonary function tests (PFT's), and an EKG and Echo Cardiogram with a cardiologist. Please act soon to avoid unnecessary damage to your lungs. If diagnosis and treatment doesn't cause improvement, do seek a second opinion, preferably at a major hospital. You don't want to end up needing oxygen or a lung transplant. Good luck to you.

my mom is a respiratory therapist and she tells about things like this all the time...what you need to do is go call your local hospital and ask for cardio-pulmonary. get an appointment with them for an ekg or eeg and a stress test. that would be your best bet!
what does "I a take a pump" mean? Do you mean you're using Albuterol?
This is sounding like asthma. Are you taking meds to control it?
The one thing you must do is to tell a doctor. There's nothing anyone on youqa.coms can do to help you.
I was having a similar problem so I went to my Dr.'s and he sent me in for further testing, I now need a daily medicine inhaler and since I started using it, my breathing is more in control.
I suggest going to your doctor, who knows, your inhaler may need to be increased or something....Don't be scared. Good luck
I had this problem, it ended up being that my body was retaining water cause of a heart problem. Get into the doc!!
uuummm... brush your teeth. :)
Try using Advair 1 puff twice a day. Then slowly trim it down to 1 puff once a day. Take singular in the evening before you go to bed. Also you can ask your doctor to prescribe Spiriva, 1 pill once a day at evening. The drugs can help you control your evening and early morning symptoms. Don't be scared. Medicines can help.
