when will antibacterial stuff not work anymore?
Question:
Answers:
Anti bacterial things still work. It takes a lot to get immune to them. It's just another hype they have. If people abuse anti bacterial things, such as meds, problems can form. But ALWAYS wash your hands with soap and water, it's the best way to prevent getting sick.

Are you talking about Anti-Biotics? Depends..some people including doctors have misused them. If you are given anti-biotics you should use all that is prescribed. DO NOT stop taking them when you are feeling better. The anti-biotics will first kill the weaker bacteria and you will feel better but the stronger ones still remain. If you continue taking the medication it will kill them too. However if you stop, you just leave the stronger ones alive to breed. Since they were in contact with the anti-biotics but not killed by it their resistance increases. Eventually they may no longer work no matter how much you take.
Doctors in the past have also misued the anti-biotics by over prescribing them because it was convenient even for minor illnesses.
As for how long it will take before they no longer work, depends on how we act now and on the each individual disease.
afte time things become imune to there cures but i think it will be a good few years before that happens to domestic germs lets face it this world has not been so aware of germs and bacteria for a long time before now to answer your question would be impossible but i wrote what i thought ggod luck in your search theres one now its called MRSA methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus, and theres another one i forgot, the only thing its not resistant to is vancomcyn. but theres a strain now in japan that is becoming resistant to it.
Always complete the antibiotic treatment sked, say the doc prescribed it for 5 days consume it even though u already feel well after 2 days bec the bacteria is still there, if you discontinue your meds they would build up resistance also we must campaign for the drug companies to research more. hahaha!
idk MRSA is a very nasty bactirial infection that used to be in hospitals but now found almost everywhere. It's usually treated with vancomyicin and one or two other antibiotics at the sametime. The type that's found in hospitals is supposed to be more resistant than other strains but I don't believe that. I caught MRSA in the hospital after a triple-by-pass surgery, I went through 6 or 7 more surgeries to remove as much of the "rotting flesh" as possible. I have a very large scar on my chest where they had to cut matirial and do reconstructive surgery. Vancomyicin is administered intervenously for weeks in an attempt to control the infection, you will always have some of it on or in you. If you get MRSA make sure you take all antibiotics till told to stop. This can cause any bactiria to become resistant. I hope this gives you some idea how to avoid resistant bactiria.
