What causes the foul body in some people with cancer?
Question:
Answers:
This sounds morbid, but it's reality. The smell is from cancer because it literally rots the insides of the body. It's killing healthy cells plus in advanced stages the cancer victim can't eat so they waste away. The smell is a different one compared to regular body odor, bad breath, etc. I use to call it the smell of death. You'll also notice that the person has a gray appearance not the usual pale appearance of someone NOT dying has.

I don't understand the ? Did you forget a word?
It's the chemotherapy usually.Their body is ridding itself of the chemicals and such in the drugs. I wouldn't say it's a foul odor, but my husband had chemo and for a pretty good while, he had an "off" smell to him. It eventually goes away. Basically, the meds get in and do what they do, then one of the ways you expel the rest is through your sweat glands. I don't think a cancer pt has fowl body odor. Usually, they are so sick they cannot get up and brush their teeth or take a shower, hence, odor.
The breath of a pt with pancreatic cancer is malodorous. It smells like rotten ammonia type chemicals. Again, if they were well enough to get up and brush their teeth and use mouthwash, it would not be noticeable.
It is all a matter of being very sick
