Is it a cold sore?

Question: I thought I just bit my lip or because they have been chapped the last 2 days that was why my upper lip (in the middle) was red and swollen. I didn't notice any tingling but the area is "numb" so I am not sure what it is. Help!

it looks like herpes simplex A to me...notice the small cauliflower type bumps on the area... try some over the counter cold sore medicine and eat a lot of plain yogurt...that will be gone in no time

It's either a fat lip, or a cold sore. You could've harmed your lip, which would cause a fat lip, (AKA a swollen numb lip) OR It could simply be a cold sore, since your lips have been in bad condition. No mater what it is, is should go away in a few days.

Your local drug store has so many cold sore remidies, but watch out, some don't work too well. Ask the folks at the pharmacy about certain products before purchacing them.

Chances are, It's a cold sore. (IT looks like one)

Usually cold sores are on the lining around the lip but it does sort of look like one. Go to the drug store and by abreva and see if it clears it up.
