Answers:
Talk to your union's Health and Safety Rep about what you should do. Hospitals isolate people with MRSA and nurses and visitors wear masks and gloves and avoid contact, If you have any open wounds on your body, even a grazed knee or cut finger, you are at risk.

Other Answers:
I would talk to a nurse in the home. Ask her what precautions need to be taken when serving these residents. It depends on where they have the MRSA how easy it would be for you to catch it. For example, is it in their urine or in their sputum? I would definately wear gloves and the nurse for additional information, if you can't get that, watch the nurses aides, see what protective gear they wear when caring for these residents.
AS long as you take take universal precautions you are safe. Were an apron and gloves when handling patients make sure you have a alcohol cleanser on you at all time to cleans your hands when you have been in contact with MRSA patients.
the mask is NOT necessary as long as you are sensible.
yes u are safe but u then get ur diet controled
You are completely safe working around clients with MRSA so long as you take the universal precautions. Wear an apron, use alcohol gel on entering and leaving the room, wear gloves etc. Wearing a mask is totally unnecessary.

In most cases MRSA is not a danger. there are thousands of people who have this without even knowing it.

Just take care and you will be absolutely fine.
