Brain tumors. please anyone with experience, have ?'s?
Question:
Answers:
The following intracranial tumors in adults are found in Corpus callosum (a band of white nerve fibres passing beneath the longitudinal fissure and connecting the two cerebral hemispheres.) They are Astrocytoma, anaplastic astrocystoma, glioblastoma multiforme, oligodendroglioma and "Lipoma".
"Lobotomy" will be done for the relief of intractable pain particularly in patients with incurable cancer whom anxiety is a prominent symptom. The alteration in personality that occurs as a consequence of this type of operation is a serious drawback, and most surgeons are in agreement that lobotomy is justified only in exceptional cases in which all other forms of treatment have failed to afford relief. A number of other surgical procedures are available for the relief of persistent pain, and these should aways be given priority over lobotomy.

Could the type of cancer be Glioma? That is the most common form of brain cancer.
I had a loved on who had breast cancer that spread to her liver. The doctor told her that she would only live six months or less. She lived for three years and it was actually the side effects from a treatment for cancer that killed her(not the cancer).
She can and should ask the doctor's office for a copy of the radiology or byopsy(if she had one)report. It will tell her the name of the type of cancer and the staging(how advanced it is). You can then find out how aggressive the cancer is.
There is a treatment for inoperable cancers that is really promising. There are only a handful of doctors doing it for brain cancer, so I can't tell you where to find one. We have a doctor in our area that is doing it in a more aggressive manor than most hospitals. Because his treatment is more aggressive, it is considered experimental and insurance companies will not pay for the treatment. He is saving many lives with his treatment. It is called Radio-frequency ablation.
You can do a search and find out more about it. The first link that I've listed is the one in my area.
Try to remain calm and just keep looking for a way to fight this. Duke University is one of the best cancer centers. Check out their website for new information. Look for experimental trials. The trials are free and often are the best option for inoperable cancers. I have listed a link for help with natural cures, also.
