how does HCV transmit ? & is it necessary if one family member is infected that all rest members will get so ?

Question:

Answers:
HCV is transmitted through blood to blood contact. Getting it from sex is rare and it may be from something else. I have HCV and live with my family-2 other adults and 2 teenagers. I don't share my plate when eating and they know to stay away from combs, toothbrushes, and shavers. As far as I'm aware no one has gotten the virus from me in the 23 years I've had it. It's a case of following proper hygiene and not sharing anything that could have blood on it. Be especially careful of IV drugs and tatoos. Everything must be sterile to not catch it from someone who has it. At my house we really don't do anything special, except I keep my drinks in old gatorade bottles, so everyone knows they're mine.
