After 25 years - How Many People Have You Known Who Died with Aids?

Question:

Answers:
Personally, too many. I worked in an upscale restaurant and most my wait staff was gay. A black waiter and a fine human, got it from his boyfriend. At a local club, the receptionist is dead. Two apartment dwellers we knew are both dead. One man I knew who was polite but into leather is dead along with a very close friend of mine. Leather man passed first, and then my friend moved in with another man and they are dead. A man who owned an Aviary is dead and he was nice. My second cousin in Florida is dead. I could go on and on. When I moved to Las Vegas, two men were dying. They are likely dead now in Washington (they both went to Seattle to die) and their liquid morpheine must has been awful but with the pain, what can you say. There is a woman I knew. A needle junkie. Gone along with her husband. They left an 8 year old daughter behind. Should I keep going? I think that's enough. I made a small dent of those who are gone from it. Oh, and the club owner died, too.

Other Answers:
8 one was my biological mother.

43. I had a male cousin pass away 4 four years ago.

I have been very fortunate that no one close to me has died with aids. I do have a friend that is HIV positive. He is still working and has good times and bad. Our only hope is that research can find a cure for this.

3, all were friends, but, we didn't know then, what we know now. Don't shoot drugs. one, my uncle in 1984. He recieved it from a blood transfusion. He was 64.

Too damn many.

Personally 3 people .
One is one too many!

visit the AIDS Quilt.
Support AIDS research.
AIDS strikes every race, gender, religion!

none. I don't even know anyone who has the disease eventhough I do know many gay people.. Don't get upset----I just mean that the general public seems to think that all gay people are walking timebombs and that is just not the case. The group that is getting infected at the highest rate now is the baby boomer group because they are getting divorced and back out into the dating scene. Go figure.
