Does anyone know how to deal with the flu like symptoms of avonex?

Question: I have been on Avonex for almost 2 years some times I get sick and other times I do not. I always try to do the same thing but I still get sick. Not taking the avonex is not an option for me at this time.

The side effects that accompany most types of interferon are more tolerable if you take some Tylenol or ibuprofen an hour before the usual time side effects begin, and then repeat as necessary. Don't try and tough out the side effects without taking the pain meds.
