If I have shingles and have sex can my husband get infected?

Question:

Answers:
Shingles is only contagious by skin to skin contact with the area that is broken out. It generally is not very contagious except to people with compromised immune systems like people undergoing chemo or a sickly person, and babies. Shingles is a reactivation of the chicken pox virus you had as a kid. Noone knows why it reactivates and comes up in one area only.
So, the answer is-you can only give it to your husband if you contact him with the affected area and even then the risk is only slight.

Other Answers:
if i knew what shingles are, i would tell you

not unless his immune system is low With chicken pox, not shingles.

Would you be having the sex with him, or someone else?

LOL sorry only teasing.actually, I don't know. Sometimes I get the best of me. :)

PS Google says no. It does say you could give him chicken pox if he is not immune though.

A person exposed to a patient with shingles will not get shingles but may get chickenpox if they havent already had it..if they have already had the chickenpox there is nothing to worry about. yes, as long as the blisters are active the shingles or (HSV) can be transmitted , and also can be transmitted even when there is not a outbreak. it is can sheading.
