muscle at left side of sternon goes crazy after sneezing....Am scared what could this be???
Question:
thank you very much.
Answers:
It could be caused by mild arthritis in the sternum joints. Your sneeze would cause your rib cage to expand rapidly and your rib cage attaches to your sternum. You may want to ask for a referal to a rheumatologist. If it is mild arthritis, it is very easily treated.
losec has NOTHING to do with it anyway.
Since its painful after sneezing (which involves contraction of some muscles in the chest(intercostal muscles), then there must be a mechanical reason fo the pain for example
# 1 muscle spasm (intercostal muscles ) from whatever reason.
# 2 fracture rib (sometimes even from minor trauma), this will heal in 2-3 weeks.
# 3 problem with the sternoclavicular joint a condition called TEITZ syndrome, usuallly there is tenderness at the area with mild swelling, & can be treated with local steroid injection.
The best thing is to take advil (not tylenol)
i wish you feel better soon.
If it's not a muscle spasm/contraction from your sneezing. then I would suspect the diaphragm. this is a muscle that separates the abdominal cavity from the chest cavity. I've known of them to do some really strange things.
I'm about to get really weird on you here. It may be that your body is "out of sync". for example this is what causes hiccups, again, involving the diaphragm. if it bothers you I would recommend a very specific massage therapist. A "neuromuscular therapist" while they are a massage therapist it's sorta like comparing someone who plays softball on the weekends to a professional baseball player.
They are nearly always to be found in a medical environment, won't be cheap and are the top of the food chain when it comes to their chosen field. when a muscle moves it's because it's being told to by a nerve-hence "neuromuscular"
before I retired I had two I would refer to. They could watch a person walk across the room and tell me more about their problems than a battery of tests.
