Answers:
What are your symptoms? Bloody Stool, Cramps, Pelvic Pain? Need more info.
Other Answers:
you haven't got some kind of cellular overproliferation or low plasma volume disorder that's been so far overlooking in favour of trying to artificially batter (possibly non existant) infections into the ground, have you?
what tests have you actually had, and what are their results? i'm sure you can appreciate that getting any kind of appropriate medical answer here will require a fair bit more info. even with my extremely limited knowledge and experience (trainee nuclear medicine technician) there's two or three things i'm thinking of, and i haven't really got enough info to go on to say its any of them. though i would get another sample from you for a full blood count in the general phlebotomy dept, and book you in for an NM plasma volume & cell mass 2-way test, perhaps a white cell whole-body imaging scan too, to see if there's a certain place they're congregating (e.g. hidden chronic infection thats just not going away) - or being produced from needlessly in massive numbers. & reccomend your Dr changes treatment in a certain way.. etc
The eos are usually a sign of either an allergy OR parasitic infection. Sounds like your doc is on the right track by ordering a parasite test. The sed rate is a generic test that indicates inflammation. The high neutrophil count is significant if it also comes with a high band count indicating a left shift - meaning infection - which also happens with allergies. These are generic answers and depends on how you define "high". A "high" WBC of 14,000 is not the same as a "high" WBC of 79,000. Same with eos. or any lab test for that matter. Lab tests only provide part of the picture. Without knowing what your symptoms are we're shooting in the dark. Trust your doctor and discuss with him/her all of your symptoms. Include any travel that you've undergone. There are quite a few parasites that you can pick up when traveling abroad. I can keep guessing all day.. - sorry just reread the part about the gastrointestinal upset. Definitely consider stool O&P x 3 and stool cultures.
