My son has bowel movement problems where he can't even control it. It just keeps on coming out! Help!?
Question:
What can I do to help him besides talking to his doctor because I have already done that. Are there any medications or foods he can take for it? Or ANYTHING else please! Thank You!
Answers:
You may want to pursue this with a specialist, probably a gastroenterologist. There is a link between constipation and loss of bowel control. Chronic constipation can weaken the muscles in the lower intenstine and anus. Usually this is a problem for older people, but it is possible in children. You also want to rule out disease as a possible cause. Your son needs to know that this is not his fault. A thorough medical workup should be done to try to identify the exact mechanism of this problem. I hope you can find a good doctor who will work with you.
You had best find another doctor if your family doctor hasn't helped by now. This is very serious and had better be diagnosed and treated properly.
