I have had a cough, etc. I went to the Dr. and am taking antibiotics. should i exercise, go running.?

Question:

Answers:
no you shouldn't. right now your body is weak because it is conserving energy to fight off the infection. you should be actually at home and rest, and soft diet -- you might throw up if you eat something heavy. when your infection is gone, see the doctor again for a follow-up checkup and ask him if you can go back to your exercise regimen.

Other Answers:
NO, that totally runs down your immune system. Get better first before running/exercising.
Your lung capacity is probably low, and doing running will do nothing for you if you have an infection.

Rest. Recover.
wait until you are off of the antibiotics. strenuous exercise can make your immune system weaker for a short time, and your body needs all the immune system help it can get right now.
Why don't you ask the Dr. instead of us?
But since you asked.NO. Don't get others sick that are around you. Stay home.
No, wait until your cough completely clears up and you're done with the anitbiotics. If you're dying to exercise, do some VERY light yoga or pilates. And maybe for only 10 min or less.
No,not yet.Get better and when you start again do it easy
No, wait until you finish the antibiotics. You should've asked your doctor's office this question!
I wouldn't recommend running, but if you cease all exercise you begin to lose muscle mass within 24 hours. Try strength training, walking or other less strenuous activities. If you become tired or short of breath take a break. Antibiotics have NO effect on your immune system. Do be sure to get adequate nutrients and stay hydrated.

I just wanted to add any time you have a cough its not a bad idea to be checked for Whooping Cough aka Pertussis as it is very contagious and can be deadly to infants the fact you are on antibotics is reassuring though.
Remeber excercising/running can make your cough temporarily worse especially with Pertussis.
you should rest first
NO WAY, unless of course you want to remain ill and not get any better.

Wait until your course of anibiotics is up, then if you feel up to it, then heck ya, run all ya want
