psoriasis on my scalp?

I hear your pain. Psoriasis is more difficult to treat when it's on the scalp because of your hair. Sometimes the shampoos just don't work as well as you'd like and topicals are harder to apply becuse they soak into your hair. Also, you might not have psoriasis, but somehting else - perhaps eczema - which needs different treatment.
Change in temperature can make it flare up as well as can stress and diet. Hard to find the triggers, but sometimes that's a moot point as you just want relief from the symptoms.
Seeing a dermatologist is a start (if you haven't already). Don't get discouraged if it takes time. Not everything works for every person. I went through 3 dermatologists before I found one that helped.
Good luck. This link might give you some added information.
As for those that said you were gross or a freak - I hope they get some skin rash that makes them miserable.
