I have had experience in this and the RID did NOT work however I have a cheaper way. And it works..first you put your kids in the tub..take Heavy olive oil pour it over your kids heads.make sure they dont breath it in! This will suffocate the lil bas*****!
then take a plastic bag wrap it around the head then place a towel over that secure it..Leave it on overnight..the next morning rinse with DAWN this will cut the oil..then take Vinager (white) pour it over the head (this will remove the gum around the eggs) Then with heavy conditioner take a comb Lice comb or a rat tailed comb start at the base of the head and work each by inch..I know this is tiresome but you have to do it. MAKING SURE YOU WIPE THE COMB AFTER EVERY SWIPE ON A PAPER TOWEL THAT IS GOING INTO A PLASTIC BAG!! Rinse the hair..put on a leave in conditioner, blow dry the hair, and put hairspray on..Lice do not like hair with product in it this is why kids in grade school get it more then middle school or high school kids who gunk up their hair..and yes hair dye will kill the ones in your hair..but you must first do the oil vinger thing first!! This worked after 2 months of struggling!! It sounds like alot but it will work!! i will this school year put spray and blow dry my girls hair before school..(lice hate heat) But the lil boogers can hold their breath for a very long time under water this is why you cant wash them out..but oil will suffocate them just MAKE SURE YOUR KIDS HEADS ARE TILITED BACK SO THEY DONT BREATH IN THE OIL!! Hope this helps!!

You can probably have it shipped to you.
Some head lice is resistant to the normal treatment, please see your pediatrician for his/her advice and a prescription. no dye wont do it ..i had to use furn spray like it was hair spray on my kids and me also i found that the source was friends who's mom refused to treat so keep them in isolation for a bit that way they don't get it again as soon as you treat..get rid of barbies and bears or bag them for 3 months..extreme yes but it works..shampoos are useless the bugs have become immune to most of them due to parents who don't treat fully ie they have built a tolerance
The best thing to do is use a thick substance like mayo, or olive oil or heck even crisco, need to later the head in it and let it stay on for hours. Yes its a pain but I was at wits end and the doctor told me to do it and I did and it worked. This will smother them. also after a few hours comb out hair using bug comb or even your fingers. You will probably need to use dish soap to wash it out and after all the washing comb and pick more for like 48 hours straight. It was the most successful thing I did and it worked. It was messy as hellbut worked.
good luck and I feel for ya
Sorry, but I'm pretty sure dying your hair won't help. However a cheaper method on killing them in your hair is mayonnaise. You will still need to wash your clothes and bed clothes and spray with the lice spray. However if you have any pets, (IE. cats, dogs or even birds, they may be the reason they keep returning. you may have to have them treated as well. GOOD LUCK!
no hair dye wont kill lice.you need to retreat everyone in the house with nix.. and wash combs,,,bedding, towles, brushes. hot water.. go to a rite-aid or wal-mart and by the spray for head lice.and spray the couch ,matresses and carpet.. re peat in a couple of weeks that should get rid of them.
