Any suggestions?

Question:
I have an outer ear infection which seems to be pretty bad. My whole ear is swollen and so is a lot of my neck around. I went to the doctor Sat. and he gave me antibiotics and Tylenol 3 for the pain.which doesn't work.so I have been using some advil instead. I use a warm cloth for the pain.but do you have any other ideas.I would love to be pain free.if only for a few minutes!
Thanks for your help!
:)

Answers:
I can't imagine an outer ear infection being THAT painful..48 hrs of antib's should help and keep taking the entire regimen prescribed..call your DR and ask if you can have a few oxycodone pills in order to sleep or try benadryl. Benadryl is OTC medicine now and is safe and quite adept at making you sleep. Oxy will help. it is the drug of choice for toothaches which are in the same region. good luck!

Other Answers:
take 800 milligrams of ibuprofen. it always works for me on everything. good luck.

Maybe go for a second opinion. The pain medication should be giving you some relief. call or go back to the doc (or the er) and tell them the ty 3's aren't working. ask for some vicodin.

sounds more like Gourd to me.I think I'd go get a second opinon
