Could I have IBS?

Question:
My symptoms are: dull ache/discomfort in lower left side, irregular BMs (some small, some soft, some with lots of mucous), irritable nature, tingle/twinge in back of neck. My neck no longer hurts, and I can "hear" and feel something moving thru my bowels - kind of gurgles. I'm sure my bowels are full, although (today) I don't have the feeling of being constipated (I did earlier this week). I'm wondering if the stool is TOO soft (I'm fiber conscious, and think I could have overdone it recently) and if that's part of the problem. And yes, I've had a stressful week.

Answers:
Most of your symptoms go along with IBS, when you eat lots of veggies, salad and fiber filled food it can cause havoc on your tummy. Salad and veggies are two of the worst for suffers of IBS, these can cause diarrhea and major discomfort in the stomach region as well as gas and gurgling noises. The best way to treat IBS is to write down EVERYTHING you eat for one week, don't change what you eat, write it all down and then correlate that with the way your stomach, intestines and other parts of your body and mind feel. This way you can trigger when you have bouts of IBS and start to eliminate those foods, drinks and spices that cause IBS symptoms. I have to do this, I've had three colonoscopies, one endoscopy and have taken countless medications for treating IBS. The only thing that works was finding my triggers food, drink and spices and trying to eliminate or at least keep myself from eating too much. Lots of foods and what not have different effects on people that suffer from IBS. I have chronic IBS and some of my friends have acute IBS, one being constant and the other flaring up with food, stress or other reasons. If you've tried writing what you consume down then it might be wise to go to the doctor and if you haven't, give it a try and take that to your doctor, it always helps to have something concrete to give them so they can treat you accordingly.

Hope this helps, good luck, I feel for you!
